Veldfire Management Strategies & Annual Plans of Operation

Members of the CPFPA have been visited and their properties inspected to update the Veldfire Management Strategies (VMS) and Annual Plan of Operations (APO). The Veldfire Management Strategy is a document listing all relevant member information, regarding with the property and available fire fighting resources. This document is updated annually so as to ensure accurate records on every member are kept.

The Annual Plan of Operation is a basic plan, listing all fire protection related activities, to be undertaken by the landowner over the course of that next year. Each activity is scheduled in for certain time periods so as to prioritize the list. Private land owners on the Cape Peninsula, eligible for membership, are being contacted and their land inspected to prepare the VMS and APO.

 

Designing of an advertisment sheet

The draft of an advertisment for the CPFPA has been created. The advertisment will be used when approaching prospective members. Together with a booklet on Fire Protection Associations, by the National Veld and Forest Fire Act (101 of 1998), the advertisment will supply interested parties with the necessary basic information on who we are and what we do. 

Once complete. the advertisment will be loaded onto the website as a download.

 

 New Member Search

The CPFPA will soon be scouting for new members. Once the advert is printed a list of potential candidates will be contacted. One of the CPFPA aims is to continuously grow the member database to eventually see all FPA worthly private land on the Cape Peninsula protected under the helm of the association.
